The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhwoo, had a meeting with the Transportation Department. He asked them to give a report within the next 10 days about how things are going with setting up E-Charging stations. The Chief Minister wants more electric vehicles in the state and plans to build 107 E-Charging stations. Out of these, 53 will be at different petrol pumps, and 54 will be built by the Transportation Department.

Sukhwoo told the department to give a detailed report on this plan. He also checked on the progress of making six green corridors in the state. The government is currently working on these green corridors, connecting places like Parwanoo, Nalagarh, Una, Hamirpur, Sansarpur Terrace, Panvta, Nahan, Solan, Shimla, Mandi, Jogindernagar, Palampur, Dharamshala, Kangra, Pathankot, Bilaspur, Mandi, Manali, Kullu, and Jingjingbar.

Sukhwoo learned about putting up electricity transformers and the process of inviting bids for building these green corridors. He said they’re planning to replace the Himachal Road Transport Corporation’s diesel buses with e-buses. They are starting the process to buy 300 new e-buses soon to improve public transportation.

The Chief Minister wants to encourage using electric vehicles for environmental reasons. He said that government departments will start using e-taxis too. They’re planning to lease e-taxis to young people without jobs and assign them to different government departments. They’re also making a website where you can register e-taxis, and it will be ready to use soon.
